AHR Expo Announces Educational Opportunities Available at 2017 Conference

LAS VEGAS — The AHR Expo, an annual event for contractors, engineers and other HVAC professionals announced its lineup of educational opportunities and hands-on demonstrations that will be part of next year’s AHR Expo taking place Jan. 30 to Feb. 1, 2017 in Las Vegas.

The expo will allow attendees to participate in multiple seminars, presentations and professional certification exams. Topics that will be highlighted at 2017’s expo include: best practices in HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), industry initiatives, global HVAC trends, customer education and building automation.

“Beyond the ability to discover cutting-edge innovations showcased at each year’s AHR Expo, attendees have come to appreciate the opportunity to combine valuable educational sessions into their agendas,” said Clay Stevens, president of Show Manager International Exposition Co., in a statement. “The show has become a place where attendees can earn CEUs (continuing education units), complete professional certification exams, and engage in meaningful discussion with peers about solutions to the industry’s most difficult challenges.”

Over 100 presentations will be held in the show’s new product and technology theaters, which will feature the latest innovations created by AHR Expo exhibitors. Within the theaters, attendees can participate in shortened overview sessions that will teach them about nuances and other technologies being showcased this year.

Those attending the expo can participate in industry-related seminars presented by HVACR (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) industry groups. These hour-long sessions can teach attendees about the HVACR industry and provide them with hands-on examples of how to answer customer questions and take action in the field.

“We pride ourselves on offering these ancillary education, training and certification opportunities,” said Stevens in a statement.

According to AHR Expo’s website, 2017’s expo will also incorporate several opportunities for attendees to participate in ASHRAE Learning Institute (ALI) continuing education courses. ALI will offer 20 courses before and during the expo. All courses will be pre-approved for continuing education and can be contributed toward a professional engineering (P.E.) license.

By participating in a full-day course, attendees can earn six professional development hours. According to AHR Expo’s website topics that will be discussed within the ALI continuing education courses include: Designing High-Performance Health Care HVAC Systems (code 79); Design of Affordable and Efficient Ground Source Heat Pump Systems (code 72); High-Performance Building Design: Applications and Future Trends (code 70); and Designing Toward Net-Zero Energy Commercial Buildings (code 68).

Half-day courses will also be offered where participants can earn up to three CEUs.

The AHR Expo also offers attendees an opportunity to sit for exams certified by several HVACR industry organizations. Exam sessions will cover more than 11 industry-specific topics and after taking the test, participants can receive certification if they pass.
