Living Product Expo 2016 Gears Up For Second Annual Event

PITTSBURGH — The annual Living Product Expo 2016 is set to take place September 13-15 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. Now in its second year, the expo is hosted by the International Living Future Institute and is designed to inspire a revolution in the way sustainable materials are designed, manufactured and delivered.

At the first event in 2015, also in Pittsburgh, sustainability directors from the world’s leading design firms, manufacturers and sustainability consultants, were all present to share knowledge and brainstorm ideas about future products and their impacts on the environment. This year opening keynote speakers include Leo W. Gerard, international president for the United Steelworkers (USW) union, and Jason F. McLennan, board president and founder of the International Living Future Institute. McLennan is considered in the industry as one of the most influential individuals, and is the founder and creator of the Living Building Challenge, which is considered the world’s most progressive and stringent green building program, according to the International Living Future Institute.

The event features other featured speakers as well as educational sessions, workshops and summits, tours, networking and an open trade show floor with new and exciting products and services. In addition, to date there are 24 sponsors of the event, including the top sponsor, Mohawk Group. In addition, Assa Abloy, Coldspring Columbia Forest Products, Ecos Paints, Prosoco, Tarkett, Teknion and Valspar are also some of the featured sponsors for the event. A full list can be found here.

The conference aims to address and educate attendees on the following:
